2011 Finalists

The standard of films entered this year has been incredible and the whole festival has been extremely well attended.

Feature Film

Zeitgeist: Moving forward (USA, Documentary Sunday 18th, Westow House) Ever thought that the system is wrong? That the chips are stacked against you? You're right! This brilliant documentary explains scientifically how a 'market economy' system can only create more inequality and serve the privileged few. It costs 8 barrels of oil to extract one...we all need to act soon and you need to watch this - fascinating!

Skinning The Cat (Canada, Sunday 18th Patrick's DOWNSTAIRS) UK PREMIERE of the multi award winning film. Ned kidnaps business mogul, Bruce, to an abandoned warehouse and begins an interrogation that reveals deep secrets kept by both men. 2 men in a room that keeps you totally gripped! Also showing: The Doctor' s Revolution a doctor's personal view of the excellent Cuban health system including an interview with Fidel Castro himself!

Taita Boves (Venezuela, Mon 19th,Westow House) this big budget, top quality film tell s the story of Boves, a cruel man who became a legend during the Venezuelan War of Independence, the most violent in the Americas. Contains graphic sex and violence. Trailer. (No subtitles on trailer but there are on the film).

Expect A Miracle (Espera Un Milagro, Spanish documentary, Mon 19th Patrick's DOWNSTAIRS) The Untouchables in India are
the most oppressed social group on the planet. A Spanish Jesuit arrived in the poorest district 50 years ago and completely changed their lives and minds with The Silent Revolution.

The Killage (Australia, Fri 23rd, Phoenix Centre ) WORLD PREMIERE! Shown in High Definition. Hilarious take on Friday The 13th, laugh out loud throughout! Is the killer the jock, the goth, the crippled asshole...? Only a suitable body count will tell. You'll split your sides through fear and laughter.

22:43 (Austria, Sunday 25th, Patrick's DOWNSTAIRS) After a car accident a struggling author realises he is missing 3 entire years of his life, his girlfriend can't be found, his house is no longer his, why can't he remember anything? While trying to find answers he discovers a dark secret from 15 years ago and somehow his new manuscript seems to be the key ! A time travel thriller that keeps you guessing,
extremely well made and well acted.

Face To Face (Australia, Thurs 29th Patrick's DOWNSTAIRS) UK PREMIERE of an award winner! A group from diverse backgrounds
gather to decide the fate of a violent young man. Intense story that unravels as it goes. Trailer.

Boy Wonder (USA, Thurs 29th Westow House) UK PREMIERE! In this riveting and gritty psychological-thriller, a young Brooklyn boy witnesses the brutal murder of his mother and grows up obsessed with finding her killer. Watch trailer here.
